چکیده
Cork value is determined mainly by its thickness at the moment of debarking but also affected presence any discontinuities related to porosity characteristics and/or anomalies in cork plank. quality closely final price raw material, so inventories conducted prior are aimed identifying and therefore potential price. Besides information from these inventories, forest managers need a reliable prediction help them determine most profitable harvest. In this work, three-level nonlinear mixed effects growth model was developed for Spanish oak forests using 1027 samples taken nine regions provenance into which Spain divided identification reproductive material. The fitting step revealed that region stand level explained much less variability than tree mixed-effects models. Therefore, subject–specific predictions were obtained with joint use region-, stand-and tree-level random effects. compared three alternative options when no additional measurements available. precision calibrated stand-, 0.1 mm taking one measurement time during rotation period. more precise has wider range application previous model, being suitable predicting accumulated 90% distribution area Spain. However, it should only be applied make within given period not simulate over successive rotations. future, would necessary develop an annual includes site, variables capable providing long-term under different climatic management scenarios. study could provide basis such because used identify main through correlation analysis.

Fitting and Calibrating a Multilevel Mixed-Effects Stem Taper Model for Maritime Pine in NW Spain
Stem taper data are usually hierarchical (several measurements per tree, and several trees per plot), making application of a multilevel mixed-effects modelling approach essential. However, correlation between trees in the same plot/stand has often been ignored in previous studies. Fitting and calibration of a variable-exponent stem taper function were conducted using data from 420 trees felled...

Accurate and affordable measurements of upper-stem diameters are now possible thanks to recent advances in laser technology. Measurement of the midpoint upper-stem diameter can be employed to improve the accuracy of diameter predictions along the tree bole. Felled-tree data from a loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) plantation was used to evaluate two approaches: (1) calibrating a segmented taper eq...
متن کاملA three-level mixed-effects location scale model with an application to ecological momentary assessment data.
In studies using ecological momentary assessment (EMA), or other intensive longitudinal data collection methods, interest frequently centers on changes in the variances, both within-subjects and between-subjects. For this, Hedeker et al. (Biometrics 2008; 64: 627-634) developed an extended two-level mixed-effects model that treats observations as being nested within subjects and allows covariat...
متن کاملA mixed-effects regression model for three-level ordinal response data.
Three-level data occur frequently in behaviour and medical sciences. For example, in a multi-centre trial, subjects within a given site are randomly assigned to treatments and then studied over time. In this example, the repeated observations (level-1) are nested within subjects (level-2) who are nested within sites (level-3). Similarly, in twin studies, repeated measurements (level-1) are take...
